Proposed Bylaw Changes

Over the last several months the PMI California Inland Empire Chapter Board of Directors has reviewed and edited our bylaws in preparation to present to you for approval.

This is a regular process that is done every few years for two reasons. The first is to ensure our operations and bylaws are aligned with one another. And second, we want to keep our organization looking forward and adjusting so we are able to continually grow and add value to the project management community.

In this review most of the changes were minor. Some were wording changes or further clarifying something in the current version that we felt wasn’t as clear as it should have been. There were also some changes to align with PMI’s expectations for chapter bylaws.

There was one change that is significant. The PMI California Inland Empire Chapter Board of Directors voted to recommend relaxing the term limit policy when no candidate steps forward for a vacant position on the Board.

You can find the draft copy for approval here.

I encourage each of you to read through the bylaws thoroughly between now and June 18, 2016. After that date, we will send you an email explaining how to submit your approval of the bylaws.

Voting will be open for four weeks after which time we’ll announce the results. Assuming the bylaws pass they will be posted to our website and will take effect immediately.

Thank you for your consideration and as always, if you have any questions, do not hesitate to reach out to me.
