 Presentation Abstract
 The PMICIE Chapter has added a new Program - Mi
 litary Outreach. Engaging military active-duty\, veterans\, reservists and
  their families in project management is an excellent post-service career 
 choice that is a great fit with many of the skills and disciplines learned
  in the service. Some of these include communication\, collaboration\, tea
 m-building\, leadership skills\, and many others. It is estimated that by 
 end of 2028 an additional 22 million project managers will be needed globa
 lly. Getting military personnel trained in project management best practic
 es and principles will fill the gap of much-needed project management tale
 nt now and in the future.
 In this presentation\, Matt Quick\, Head of Mi
 litary Affairs at PMI Global\, will present a 5-Step plan for military per
 sonnel to obtain the PMI Project Management Professional (PMP) credential 
 for entering the project management profession. Matt will also share some 
 of&nbsp\;the skills he acquired&nbsp\;in the U.S. Army and U.S. Marines\,&
 nbsp\; that helped him in his transition from being a Master Sergeant in t
 he military to an accomplished project manager\, and now directing PMI Glo
 bal's Military Outreach program - 'From Service to Certified'. This progra
 m provides free certification services for military personnel to help them
  leverage their military experience for project management career success.

 Speaker Bio
 Matt Quick served in the United States
  Marine Corps and the U.S. Army for a combined 25+ years. From 1993 to 199
 7 he served as a Marine Human Resource Specialist\, then transitioned to t
 he U.S. Army for his remaining 21 years. He served in a wide range of huma
 n capital management and talent &amp\; acquisition positions\, and support
 ed the Security Force Assistance Brigade\, the 10th Mountain Division\, th
 e 3rd Mountain Division\, the Army Forces Command. He also served as the E
 xecutive Assistant for the Army Chief of Staff\, General Eric Shinseki.
 
 After Matt retired and transitioned from the U.S. Army in 2019 \,he worked
  for a short time with Fusion Technology and then took a position with Hir
 e Military. For 2+ years he did a stint as the Director of Operations for 
 the Digital Networking Professional Program\, and then took his current po
 sition as Chief of Military Affairs with the Project Management Institute.
  Matt is also the Founder and President of Army Reenlistment\, and further
  serves as the Executive Director of the Dylan Quick Foundation - a non-pr
 ofit formed to give back to kids with pediatric cancer.&nbsp\;For more inf
