About the Course 

This course is sponsored by the PMI California Inland Empire Chapter and UC Agile and is taught by Professor Kevin Reilly from the Project Management Certification Coach. This course will provide project managers with the knowledge of best practices, principles, concepts, terminology, and techniques from Waterfall/Predictive, Agile/Adaptive, and Hybrid Project Management and Product Development project approaches to help ensure project success. In a 4-day, 35-hour format, this course will include a combination of slide deck presentations and a hard copy of Andy Crowe’s best-selling book, How to Pass the PMP on the First Try – 6th Edition Plus Agile. The course will also be supported by practice questions, interactive exercises, and additional study materials provided by the Project Management Certification Coach.

This intensive course will examine the basics of putting together a well-defined, planned, and executed project. Students will learn how to define, plan, and execute a project, whether the goal is simple or complex; gain the tools and knowledge for delivering projects on time and within budget while meeting performance specifications; and explore the essential components of project management and the project and product lifecycles. This course will also help students determine the correct development approach to utilize and how to develop a project charter, assemble and manage a team, analyze and control risk, monitor project milestones, and close out the project, to name a few.

This course will include a combination of slide deck presentations and a hard copy of Andy Crowe’s best-selling book, How to Pass the PMP on the First Try – 6th Edition Plus Agile. Although this course is aligned with the Project Management Institute's Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK) Guide and will provide 35 education hours to be eligible to sit for the PMP certification exam, this is NOT a PMI-Authorized Training Partner PMP Exam Prep Boot Camp.
