President's Report

It has been an exciting 2.5 years serving as President of the California Inland Empire Chapter. The next two (2) years will be even more exciting as we continue to demonstrate more value-add services to our membership of project management professionals.

For the past few years, our Chapter was Rank #1 or #2 for top membership growth of all 18 PMI Chapters in the southwest (Region 7 covers California, Arizona, Nevada, New Mexico and Hawaii). This contributed greatly by our new strategic leadership team and PMO structure that allows us to be hyperfocused on the needs of our membership and organizational foundation to develop standards and governance for our chapter leaders and volunteers. This PMO structure allows us to successfully create new programs, repeatable processes, and career paths fort our volunteers to further develop / refine their project management leadership skills and experience; while earning PDUs!

This first quarter of 2013, we launched a new website with a portal for our Chapter members to begin providing greater value to our Chapter members, a new monthly dinner meeting location in Temecula, and added two (2) more workshops for ACP (Agile Certified Practitioner) and SCM (Scrum Certified Master) to further develop project management professionals.

We are now targeting leaders to hold in leadership position by identifying current PMO Directors (in their paid job) to become Vice Presidents serving as a board officer. This lends itself nicely to having programs created that are strategically aligned and managed.

So, don't feel left out...we have many volunteer positions identified and not yet identified. We want to be sure that you too benefit as much as we do and welcome anyone interested in contributing to and/or growing their own project management career to let us know. Check out the "Get Involved" section of our website!

We are here to listen and learn from you on how best to serve your project management needs. Start, build and grow your career and network with us! We look forward to meeting you in person at one of our dinner meetings in Rancho Cucamonga (the 3rd Tuesday of the month) and/or in Temecula (the 4th Tuesday of the month).

Warmest Regards,

Debra L. Wolf, PMP, CSM
