SUMMARY:  Providing leadership with visibility into the project landscape and driving consistency of project management execution are two key objectives for any PMO.  One tool designed to address these objectives is the IT PMO Accelerator from Smartsheet.  Prime Healthcare selected Smartsheet not only for its functionality and flexibility, but also its cost effective scalability.  Mike Smith and Joe Wood will share their experience implementing this PPM tool within Prime Healthcare's IT PMO with an emphasis on lessons learned and benefits realized for Prime's entrepreneurial IT department and their young PMO.

About the speakers: With over 23 years management experience in healthcare IT organizations, Joe has led successful teams through a range of endeavors spanning from operational improvement to integrated information system implementations. His leadership roles have ranged from positions in healthcare data technology firms to those in large multi-entity healthcare systems. His experience in hospital IT operations and management gives him insight into the challenges faced by healthcare IT leaders in today’s dynamic environment. Joe cultivates strong relationships and seeks to translate organizational goals, strategy, and needs into service solutions that align with the organization’s values and vision. 

Mike Smith is the Senior IT Project Manager for Prime Healthcare. In the five years of being at Prime he has been a part of 7 successful hospital acquisitions and contributed to the creation of the IT PMO, helping to change the narrative of projects at an organizational level. Previously, working in IT and Marketing for a large kitchen cabinet door manufacture and most recently a small non-profit, Mike believes project management knows no bounds and can bring value to any organization.
