What is the PMI-ACP® Certification?
If you have used agile practices in your projects, or your organization is adopting an agile approach to project management and delivery, the PMI-ACP® certification may be right for you.
The PMI-ACP® recognizes knowledge of agile principles, practices and tools to support the development of applications has been increasing dramatically over the last several years. Research also demonstrates the value that agile methods can have in increasing delivery of business value and agility, improving team productivity and decreasing product defects. The PMI-ACP® is positioned to recognize and validate knowledge of this important adaptive approach.
If you have worked in an organization using agile practices to deliver project results, the PMI-ACP® can provide an opportunity to demonstrate your knowledge of various agile practices. The PMI-ACP® is not limited to project managers or Project Management Professional (PMP)® credential holders. All individuals with experience working on agile project teams can apply. The class satisfies the 21 contact hours required by PMI® and addresses the additional tasks, knowledge and skills specified in the PMI-ACP®identified in the Exam Content Outline revised December 2014.
Course Purpose:
The purpose of this course is to prepare participants with a minimum 1,500 hours of agile experience to pass the PMI-ACP®certification exam. This course will present the principles, practices, terminology, tools and techniques, and knowledge and skills associated with major agile methodologies that are covered on the PMI-ACP®exam.
This course also includes practice questions similar to those included on the exam.

Prerequisites

21 contact hours of training in agile practices. This course fulfills this prerequisite.

2,000 hours of general project experience working on teams. A current PMP® or PgMP® will satisfy this requirement but is not required to apply for the PMI-ACP.

1,500 hours working on agile project teams or with any of the agile methodologies. This requirement is in addition to the 2,000 hours of general project experience.
Our instructors have over twenty years of training and consulting experience in the areas of project management, facilitating business requirements and agile software development. They hold PMP®, PMI-ACP®, and PMI-PBA® certifications and have held several PMI® chapter board and PMI Region 7 positions. They also have taught the entire PMI® GAC approved Masters of Project Management (MPM) at Devry/Keller University.
This highly interactive certification course provides in-depth understanding of the Scrum team-based approach to iterative development. The course trains participants in the full range of Scrum topics, from basic theory to organizational implementation, including practical applications, roles, and scaling.
