Presentation Abstract:

• Project Managers develop and routinely apply technical skills in disciplines such as scheduling, cost, scope, quality and risk management using the many tools and techniques available. The Project Management Institute’s Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK) provides an outstanding framework, methodology, and set of tools and techniques to manage projects.

•  In addition to technical skills, producing repeatable project success requires Project Leadership. Leadership and interpersonal skills are what get project teams to consistently produce results. This is particularly true when you bear responsibility without authority, which is inherent in most projects. What is it that separates Project Leaders from Project Managers?

•  Emotional Intelligence is arguably the most important and effective interpersonal skill that will enable you to get the most from your personal and professional relationships and your project teams.
 

Speaker Biography:

Mike has more than 25 years of experience in the enterprise computer industry with accomplishments in training, team leadership, program management, partner management, and service planning and management. He’s held various positions including Manager of Technical Training, Partner Support Manager, and Director of Service Planning, and is currently Service Product Manager at Teradata Corporation. Mike is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP), is certified in ITIL V3 Foundations and is a Certified Scrum Master and Product Owner.
