About the Course
This course is sponsored by the PMI California Inland Empire Chapter and UC Agile and is taught by Professor Kevin Reilly. This course will provide project managers with the knowledge of best practices, principles, concepts, terminology, and techniques from Waterfall/Predictive, Agile/Adaptive, and Hybrid Project Management and product development approaches to help ensure project success. In a 4-day, 35-hour format, this course will include a combination of slide deck presentations and a hard copy of Andy Crowe’s best-selling book, How to Pass the PMP on the First Try – 7th Edition. The course will also be supported by practice questions, interactive exercises, and additional study materials provided by the Project Management Certification Coach.
This intensive course will examine the fundamentals of developing a well-defined, planned, and executed project. Students will learn how to define, plan, and execute a project, whether the goal is simple or complex. They will gain the tools and knowledge necessary to deliver projects on time and within budget, while meeting performance specifications. Additionally, they will explore the essential components of project management, including the project and product lifecycles. This course will also help students determine the correct development approach to utilize and learn how to develop a project charter, assemble and manage a team, analyze and control risk, monitor project milestones, and close out the project, among other key skills.
Although this course is aligned with the Project Management Institute's Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK) Guide, 7th Edition, and will provide 35 education hours to be eligible to sit for the PMP certification exam, it is not a PMI-Authorized Training Partner (ATP) PMP Exam Prep Boot Camp.

Presentation Title
Break Through Hidden Resistance: Ignite the Human Edge That Drives Results
Presentation Speaker
Creator & Keynote Speaker - Change Breakthrough™
Presentation Abstract
What if the most significant risk to your project isn’t the scope, the budget, or the deadline, but the conversation that never happened? Most change doesn’t blow up. It bleeds out in polite nods masking hesitation, in quiet delays, and in friction no one sees but everyone feels. The result? Drained budgets, exhausted teams, and results that fall painfully short. Each year, organizations lose over $900 billion due to failed change initiatives. This is not from a bad strategy, but because the change didn’t stick. In a world where AI, regulatory shifts, and market volatility collide, disruption is just another Tuesday. The margin for error is shrinking rapidly, and ignoring resistance isn’t just risky; it’s also expensive, it stalls execution, fractures teams, and burns out your best people.
That’s why leaders turn to Anastasia Montejano, a globally recognized transformation expert with 20+ years of experience leading enterprise people change across five continents. Her Change Breakthrough™ framework helps leaders decode resistance, dismantle hidden barriers, and lead change that actually sticks. The outcome? Faster adoption, higher engagement, and more substantial ROI because change isn’t the enemy, it’s your edge. Are you leading it or chasing it? Learning Outcomes - In this presentation, you will learn how to:
• Recognize how change is breaking the playbook and how to lead through it
• Identify four hidden barriers that sabotage change and how to dismantle them
• Decode hidden resistance signals before they derail progress
• Shift the silent stories that stall momentum
• Use the Change Breakthrough™ matrix to map resistance and drive results
Speaker Bio
Anastasia Montejano has spent two decades leading enterprise people transformation across five continents, from mergers and acquisitions to organizational shakeups to global-impact transformations, not from the sidelines, but in the trenches. A former Global Change executive, she didn’t just study resistance; she lived it, coached through it, and cracked the code. Her Change Breakthrough™ framework was built under pressure and designed to work in real-world complexity.
Now, Anastasia brings those insights to stages and boardrooms, equipping leaders to build change-ready cultures, shatter hidden barriers, and drive change that sticks. No jargon and no fluff, just real strategies for real humans doing hard things in fast-moving times. Her insights have been trusted by brands like American Express, CBRE, City National Bank, Capital Group, and Harley-Davidson, because results matter. Presentation Title
There’s No AI Without HI – Part 1 - Introduction
Presentation Speaker
Professor Kevin Reilly, PMP, PMI-ACP, PMI-ATP Instructor, CSM, CSPO, CSP
Presentation Abstract
There has been considerable discussion about AI and its applications in various aspects of life. The impact of AI has already proven to be exponential compared to the previous technological wonder – the Internet. However, there is no reason to be afraid of AI. Once we understand it overall and start using it to help us be more productive in all aspects of our lives, we can then embrace it. But there is one caveat: there is no Artificial Intelligence without Human Intelligence. AI is not replacing us — it is reflecting us. It embodies our logic, biases, imagination, curiosities, and ambitions.
In this presentation, Professor Kevin Reilly will discuss the close interconnection between Human Intelligence (HI) and Artificial Intelligence (AI). As humans, we need to interpret AI’s outputs, define its ethical boundaries during its use, and determine who will provide the foundational data and scientific principles from which these systems are built. This reality underscores an inseparable synergy between human intelligence and artificial intelligence, reminding us that machines are not independent thinkers but rather tools and mirrors of our own ethics, values, and decisions. Learning Objectives include:
• A brief history of Artificial Intelligence
• The relationship between Artificial Intelligence and Human Intelligence
• Ethical considerations when using Artificial Intelligence
• AI Tools: Generative AI, Prompt Engineering
• The future of AI
