Dr. Thomas M. Fryer is an accomplished engineer, technology executive, entrepreneur, and educator. He has extensive experience in engineering, business management, and academia. He is an Assistant Professor at California Baptist University, teaching management, marketing, analytics, cybersecurity, entrepreneurship, and statistics at the Jabs School of Business. He also lectures in the online Master's of Engineering program at UC Riverside, where he teaches engineering courses. At both universities, he uses interactive teaching to engage students. His research focuses on the intersection of engineering management, project management, and economics, with a particular emphasis on designing complex systems. His passion lies in management, leadership, strategy, collaboration, complex new product development, and speaking at conferences about project management fundamentals. He has spent seven years at Edwards Lifesciences, co-leading the Transcatheter Heart Valve PMO focused on structural heart therapy and medical device new product development.
Tim also spent four years at a contract R&D start-up, developing in vitro diagnostic devices for allergy, immunotherapy, and DNA analysis, serving a variety of clients. He also spent over 20 years in aerospace at Parker Hannifin, developing and producing flight control systems for military and business jet clients, including Boeing for the GPS constellation, and Northrop Grumman for the B-2 Bomber program.
